Hopes for 2014

2013 has been a rough year for disability advocacy with often violent acts aimed at a person due to their disability often by someones care givers.  A Michigan mother attempted to murder her autistic child, a man with downs syndrome died in police custody.  Advocates responded with Petitions were started asking for hate crimes prosecutions which resulted in backlash from parents and even autistic advocates.  One advocate Kassiane Alexandra Sibley organized an online bullying mob to target me for starting the hate crimes petition.

For 2014

In 2014, I hope that the people of the world will realise that we are equally as important.  We all need each other and everyone no matter their impairments, hair color, sexuality, gender identity or religion brings something that is unique and needed to the table.  Not one of us is more important that another, irregardless of job, economic status or abilities because we all do have unique abilities, and we all have unique weak points.
