Ineffective Advocacy

So I’ve been reading through a lot of the responses to my post on why raising the minimum wage is bad for those on disability – and there are some prime examples of really bad advocacy.  The article which I posted about two weeks ago has been receiving tons of commentary – but some of the comments I have been unable to approve due to the language of the comments.

Personal Attacks

Personal attacks make for very poor advocacy, calling someone something in obscene language just makes you look like a fool.  Calling someone a right or left wing nut job is just pointless.   If you want to make a point don’t attack the person, attack the idea.

I will not approve personal attacks in the comments section that are directed to ANYONE.  There is no point.  If you disagree with me or one of my readers, don’t attack the person.  Attack the idea, attack the content, and do it using language your grandmother would be proud of.
